American Hustle

ALEXANDER WANG FALL 19
Editorial
Alexander Wang is known for his downtown chic styles and his Fall designs are no exception.
An ode to working women, The House of Wang’s ‘American Hustle’ collection takes inspiration from Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s love for tweed jackets and structured tailoring, as well as Foxy Brown’s confident and girly persona through leopard prints and leathered layers – two women from Brooklyn who not only hustled to achieve their dream, but expressed their voices through couture fashion.
The dark, yet vibrant tones across Wang’s 55 looks feature pencil skirts, oversized sport-shirts and coats featuring spray-painted smiley faces. Not to mention, the terry-cloth headwraps as a gesture to the everyday men and women hustling a work-hard, play-hard lifestyle.
We’ve gathered edgy interior pieces with plenty of attitude as a nod to Wang’s exceptional collection.
