The artist who made Melbourne colourful

“There was nobody, and there never will be, anyone like Mirka Mora,” says Lesley Harding, Artistic Director at Heide Museum of Modern Art.

Cultural icon, Mirka Mora has become one of Melbourne’s best known and adored artists. Her works have brightened the city from large mosaic murals at Flinders Street Station and St Kilda Pier to even painting a tram — her colourful creations literally travelling to all corners of Melbourne.

Commemorating her extraordinary life and career, this exhibition brings together some of Mirka’s most personal work with over 400 drawings and dolls from her home and studio.
